Gemini Brings Tokenized Michael Saylor Strategy Shares to EU Traders

Gemini has launched tokenized shares of Michael Saylor’s Strategy (MSTR) stock for European Union investors, introducing onchain access to the renowned Bitcoin-investing company’s equity. In cooperation with Dinari, Gemini is issuing these ERC20 tokens on Solana that mirror MSTR shares in value, effectively enabling round-the-clock trading for EU retail and institutional users. Traditional stock markets often limit hours, borders, and access, but Gemini’s model removes such barriers by blending equity ownership with continuous liquidity.

Gemini CEO highlighted that tokenized equities are revolutionizing financial rails, simplifying cross-border friction and reducing cost structures. Token holders retain legal rights identical to traditional shareholders, including dividends and voting, through transparent custody frameworks. The move positions public equities as a composable asset layer in DeFi, where investors can interact with their shares within decentralized applications for lending, borrowing, or collateral.

The seismic shift also reflects broader regulatory acceptance across Europe. With MiCA and MiFID II frameworks evolving, tokenized assets are gaining formal recognition. Gemini is reportedly preparing to tokenize additional blue-chip equities and ETFs in coming weeks, signaling a sustained roadmap for asset tokenization. This initiative promises easier fractional ownership, enabling broader participation from global investors who previously faced entry barriers in equity markets.

Market watchers suggest the launch will spur other exchanges and banks to enter the tokenization race. By combining traditional finance infrastructure with blockchain transparency, Gemini adds momentum to a paradigm where tokenized shares become standard financial primitives. If successful, this could mainstream equity tokenization and redefine global access to public securities.
