Web3 startup Donut Labs has raised $7 million in seed funding to build what it calls the first “agentic” crypto-browser—an AI-enhanced web interface designed to automate user interaction with dApps and blockchain protocols. The round was led by Archetype Ventures with participation from several crypto-native funds and angel investors.
The browser, called DonutOS, will integrate smart wallet capabilities, decentralized identity frameworks, and AI-driven agents that help users execute transactions, monitor yields, and manage token portfolios automatically. These agents will learn user preferences and perform delegated actions with high levels of customization and transparency.
Donut Labs’ founders describe the product as a response to Web3’s usability barriers, aiming to make DeFi, NFTs, and governance participation more accessible. By combining AI agents with seamless Web3 onboarding, they hope to redefine how users interact with blockchain.
The company plans to launch a closed beta later this year, focusing initially on Ethereum and Layer-2 ecosystems like Arbitrum and Base. The team is also in discussions with DAO tooling providers to integrate governance functions directly into the browser experience.
Security and user control remain central to the design, with open-source codebases, opt-in permissions, and local AI training modules. Unlike traditional wallets, DonutOS will not rely on browser extensions but instead function as a standalone application with native blockchain integration.
Donut Labs believes its browser could become the foundational layer for Web3 experiences, paving the way for a more intuitive, intelligent, and decentralized internet.
