Vietnam Unveils NDAChain to Secure Identity, Records and Supply Chains on National Blockchain

Vietnam has officially launched NDAChain, its national blockchain platform designed to underpin government and private sector data infrastructure by 2026. Operated by the Ministry of Public Security’s Data Innovation Centre and running a permissioned Proof of Authority system with support for up to 3,600 transactions per second, NDAChain is already embedded into Vietnam’s National Data Center. It integrates with VNeID Vietnam’s digital identity super app to create a decentralized identity layer enabling secure citizen authentication and private credential exchange without central intermediaries. The system also powers NDATrace, a product traceability service issuing unique IDs compliant with international standards. A key feature is NDA DID, which lets citizens control their identity via smart contracts, biometrics, and zero knowledge proofs. Vietnam’s approach elegantly blends centralized data control with decentralized validation creating transparency, resilience against manipulation, and reduced fraud risk. Stakeholder nodes include major enterprises like SunGroup, Zalo, and Sovico working alongside state agencies. As the platform scales into universities and local governments by 2026, analysts say Vietnam’s strategy may become a model for digital governance in emerging economies.
