Cybersecurity experts have issued warnings about a malicious campaign involving a fake Ledger Live application targeting macOS users. The counterfeit app, distributed through compromised websites, is designed to steal users’ seed phrases, granting attackers access to their cryptocurrency wallets.
The malware, known as Atomic macOS Stealer, replaces the legitimate Ledger Live app and prompts users to enter their seed phrases, leading to potential asset loss. Users are advised to download software only from official sources and to remain vigilant against phishing attempts. This incident underscores the critical importance of cybersecurity awareness in the digital asset space.
