A leading pork producer in China is diversifying into crypto mining and now targets Dogecoin over Bitcoin, representing a unique pivot for agricultural conglomerates in the digital asset space.
The company, known for its pork processing and bio engineering business, recently expanded into Bitcoin mining, building a 200 MW facility in Inner Mongolia. After generating profits with Bitcoin, management decided to adopt Dogecoin to diversify operations and connect with a broader retail crypto audience.
Executives cited Dogecoin’s low fees, community loyalty, and tilt toward tipping culture as ideal for brand engagement. Plans include accepting DOGE for selected consumer goods sales some online, others in regional farm markets.
Markets responded with enthusiasm: DOGE prices jumped nearly 15 percent on the announcement, showcasing how corporate adoption even from unlikely verticals can trigger ripple effects.
The initiative reflects a growing trend where non tech firms explore crypto for market differentiation, logistics payments, or community engagement. By embracing DOGE, the Chinese agribusiness signals that meme coin adoption transcends speculation potentially entering the mainstream commerce arena.
